BRIAN KACHINSKY IN MOSCOW

DK Rider Brian Kachinsky recently sent us an update on his trip to Russia!

I just returned home from the great country of Russia. I was fortunate enough to be invited there by the Russian's to celebrate the RBAs (Russian BMX Awards) which is basically the Russian version of the Nora Cup awards. I know from past trips to Russia and Estonia that they Russian BMX scene is thriving but nothing would prepare me for this. The riders were enthusiastic and their love for BMX surpasses even the toughest of language barriers.

I had a chance to visit DK's distributor, Toy Bike, which is also one of the oldest running BMX shops in Moscow.

It was there where I was greeted by locals and also got to meet Russian BMX legend Vladimir Kosyakov whom is pictured with me and the Passport frame. Little did Vlad know that the very next night he would be presented with the frame on stage at the RBAs. Vlad has paved the way for BMX in Russia and it was a true honor to be the one to present that award to him. He is a true legend.

The night before the RBAs I also got to see the Russian BMX talent firsthand at the RBA jam at a local Moscow park. The riding was insane! The winners of each jam won some DK Grips, DK Random Wrenches and other awesome prizes. The overall winner of the night is also "street rider of the year" for Russia last year. His name is Ivan Nikolaev and he went home with tons of good stuff including a DK "golf" bag which I hope he gets to use to shred around the globe!

A huge thanks and shout out to Alexander Sokolay and Alexander Fureav for making this whole trip happen and for making amazing things happen for Russian BMX. It was an amazing, educational and action packed 4 days. I couldn't be more thankful and appreciative.

I can't wait to see you all again!

Cheers,

Brian
